Bentonville West High School
On Wednesday, May 3rd, our HR Coordinator, Savannah Yost attended mock interviews at Bentonville West High School to allow students to get practical, real-world advice from professionals in the recruiting world.
Savannah interviewed students as if they were interviewing for jobs at Outdoor Cap, reviewed their resumes, and offered constructive feedback.
The 2016-2017 school year was a first for Bentonville West. All of us at Outdoor Cap are excited to
see the area grow and the success of the new high school is a testament to that. We’re proud to
have helped fund their inaugural yearbook; we can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Bake Sale
On Friday, May 12th the Employee Emergency Committee held a brownie and ice cream sale to benefit Sabrina Banta, who is unable to work for 7 weeks after breaking both of her arms.
Sabrina asked me to thank the Outdoor Cap family on her behalf as 100% of proceeds from the bake sale went to her medical expenses and lost wages.
Family Sunday at Arvest Ballpark
On Mother’s Day, Outdoor Cap employees took over the Home Plate Party Deck at Arvest Ballpark for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals v. Tulsa Drillers game. OC Sports donated free caps to the first 1,000 moms in attendance.
We held a raffle for an Outdoor Cap team member to throw out the first pitch, which Justin Kelley
won. All kids in attendance got to eat for free and run the bases.
National Pizza Party Day
Friday, May 19th was National Pizza Party Day and Outdoor Cap celebrated with our own Pizza Party for the entire Bentonville team!
We ordered 185 pizzas for lunch as well as drinks and desserts and had Free Food Friday. As always, we dropped off the leftovers at the Bentonville Fire Department.
Team Member of the Quarter Award
Every 3 months, our Distribution Centers (DCs) elect a team member who went above and beyond for his or her teammates and customers. Winners are chosen based on adherence to safety initiatives, productivity, reliability, attendance, quality of work, and attitude.
The winners receive a gift card, framed certificate, and OC T-shirt, and their own street sign, which gets hung above an aisle in the DC. The 1st quarter winner for 2017 was Tracy Deatherage.
Tracy began work at Outdoor Cap in November as a team lead for the night shift. She takes pride in
taking care of internal and external customers; she’s always striving to do the best job and
improve processes. Please join us in congratulating Tracy!
