
Chili Cook-Off
On Wednesday, February 21st from 11:00-1:00, the Employee Emergency Committee held our annual Chili Cook-Off. Each year, the cook-off raises money for the EE fund. With a minimum $3.00 donation, Outdoor Cap employees were able to chow down on the chili of their choosing.
This year, we had over 80 people participate and attend. Twelve entries were sorted into three categories and randomly selected judges taste-tested and judged each category accordingly. The winners were as follows:
- Best Deer: Steven Jurgensmeyer
- Best Mild: Mia Standard
- Best Other: Janelle Lowe
Dozens of employees brought sides, desserts, hot dogs, etc. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who donated food, money, or time to Outdoor Cap families facing difficult times.
Street Clean Up
On Friday, February 23rd, six volunteers from Outdoor Cap spent a few cold, rainy hours in the
morning cleaning up our adopted street in Downtown Bentonville near the square.
JUNK Spirit Week
For the week of Valentine’s Day, we held a dress-up Spirit Week at our JUNK Brands offices which resulted in Trevor Painter wearing a Onesie to work.

- Thursday: Crazy Socks Day
- Friday: PJ Day
JUNK Athletes
Rosie Mancari is a Team USA Olympic Snowboarder and JUNK affiliate. Unfortunately, she ruptured her Achilles during training at PyeongChang and was unable to compete in the Winter Games, but she did get to stay in South Korea, represent JUNK, and cheer on the rest of her teammates.
Matt Lamb, one of our JUNK employees, placed second in the Valentine’s 8K, putting him in second place overall for the Run Bentonville series.

Employment

Promotions
We’re always working to help our team members grow in their current positions as well as advance to new roles and take on additional responsibilities. We’re proud to say three employees received promotions in February.
Taylor Harnar
Taylor has now accepted the position of Project Lead on our Product Development team
Kevin Hinds
Kevin has transitioned to role of Import Specialist in our Custom Sales Department.
Ramona Watson
Ramona preciously served the Marketing Team as the Product Merchandising Manager. She is now expanding her duties and talents by taking on the Director of Marketing.
New Hires

Jay Jones
Jay joins JUNK Brands as the new Event Manager, he will be leading the event team at home and on the road.
Eric Kerr
Eric has joined the Value Added team in our Bentonville warehouse.
Julie Lawler
Join us in welcoming Julie to the OC family as she takes on the role of Domestic Order Specialist in our Custom Sales department.
Cheryl Spencer
Cheryl joined Outdoor Cap on February 19th as a Product Strategy Manager. Cheryl came to us with nearly 20 years of experience in the apparel industry.
