Q2 Design Award

Each quarter, OC employees vote on top cap designs. For Q2, we chose a Bass Pro cap designed and developed by Eldon Cowgur, Hannah Hobson, and Christie Regan.

Reverse Job Shadow Event

Grant Cottrell and Ryan Mahoney represented OC at George Junior High School in Springdale on May 18^th. Sponsored by Junior Achievement of Arkansas, this was an event in which professionals gave presentations to students about their role and experience. Grant works in our Protect Design department and Ryan is on the Marketing team.

Cancer Challenge Trapshoot Tournament

On June 14^th, three OC teammates participated in a trapshoot tournament for The Cancer Challenge which is celebrating its 25^th anniversary this year.

Team Member of the Quarter

Every 3 months, our Distribution Centers (DCs) elect a team member who went above and beyond for his or her teammates and customers.

Winners are chosen based on adherence to safety initiatives, productivity, reliability, attendance, quality of work, and attitude.

The winners receive a gift card, framed certificate, and OC T-shirt, and their own street sign, which gets hung above an aisle in the DC. The 2nd quarter winner for 2018 was James Childs.

Employment

With locations in Arkansas, California, and Texas, we currently employ 408 people, but that number is always changing. Check out all of our employment updates for the month including new hires and open positions.

Promotions

We’re always working to help our team members grow in their current positions as well as advance to new roles and take on additional responsibilities. We’re proud to say seven employees received promotions in July.

Kim Darner

Kim has now accepted the position of 2^nd Shift Supervisor on our Embroidery team.

Ryan Folkes

Ryan has transitioned to the role of Account Lead in Custom Sales.

Kevin Hinds

Kevin has also transitioned to the role of Account Lead in Custom Sales.

Kelly McKinney

Kelly has now taken on the job of Patch Operator in our Domestic Patch department.

Sandy has also transitioned to the role of Account Lead in Custom Sales.

Devin Tuggle

Devin has now accepted the position of Customer Account Manager-in-Training on our Custom Sales team.

Malissa Wulfman

Malissa has also transitioned to the role of Account Lead in Custom Sales.

New Hires

Outdoor Cap is constantly growing, and our team members very quickly become our family. Check out our newest additions for the month of July.

Dianne has accepted the role of Sample Specialist on the Product Development team.

Andrea has taken on the role of Account Lead in Custom Sales.

Elija joins us as a Domestic Order Specialist in the Custom Sales department.

Amber has accepted the job of Customer Care Specialist.

Denetra has joined our DC team in Dallas as a Material Handler.

Benjamin took on the job of Material Handler in our Pick Pack department.

After devoting 26 years to Outdoor Cap, help us say goodbye to Debbie Phillips as she retires. She will be greatly missed from the Customer Care team. We hosted a surprise retirement party in her honor on Friday, July 20^th.
