Environmental Responsibility
Customer Service

Environmental Responsibility means we see the opportunity to reduce our waste, lessen our energy consumption, recycle our materials and use sustainable textiles. We believe we can pass on a healthier and more ecologically sound environment to our sons and daughters.

Did you know...?

Outdoor Cap is doing our part to protect the natural resources on our planet. Kids around the world have 25,000 more trees to climb since we reduced our use of corrugated cardboard. Families have 18 million more gallons of purified water to drink since we implemented factory filtering systems. Our customers are wearing caps made of over 1 million yards of organic cotton.

Outdoor Cap has an in-house environmental think tank that is made up of employees and led at the executive level. The Green Team is tasked with exploring alternative energy options, ways to reduce electricity and water usage, and methods to decrease waste generation. We exceeded our reduction targets in 2009 when we reduced our electricity usage by 9%, our waste generation by 13.7%, and by staying at almost 60% below industry standards of water usage at our headquarters.

Outdoor Cap is measuring and actively reducing its carbon footprint. Cargo ships carrying our headwear are releasing 9% less carbon dioxide into the air we breathe. LED lights in our factories are consuming 600,000 less watts of energy. Workers affiliated with Outdoor Cap production around the world are being trained and encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Outdoor Cap voluntarily disclosed Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP - https://www.cdproject.net/en-US/Pages/HomePage.aspx). We will continue to identify, track and disclose our carbon emissions while we work with our factory partners in other countries to reduce our emissions worldwide.
